To begin with, I've been
working as a "Business Intelligence" developer since 8 years and
mostly specializing in Relational Databases and ETL. I've worked for 5
different reputed companies in just 8 years in the quest to work on variety of
projects for different clients to experience in different aspects in client's
respective domains. Ultimately, I feel beyond technical expertise in this field
understanding client's requirement is equally important.
I'm passionate about
cracking the toughest challenges in the area of Business Intelligence and
arrive at the apt solutions. To quote one of the challenges, I have optimized
one of the data ingestion process involving gigs of data to complete in just 10
minutes - unoptimized process had taken 6 hours to execute. Toptal.com is one
such platform to prove one's ability and expertise in their area of interest. I
came to know about this platform six months ago, through one of my friends.
Few benefits that attracted
me towards Toptal are: to enjoy the flexible work hours - choose your own hours
and work during most productive hours; earn salary proportional to your skill –by
retrospecting the weakness and strengths enables skill development; and I'm the boss - no longer to answer anyone
but your clients and myself. Taking decisions which is sometimes the tough part
will now become my responsibility and I would have all the control.
Initially, I thought it is
very easy to crack the Toptal's interview as I'm very confident about my
technical skills. Later, I realized after the first round of interview that the
professional communication is also a major factor that will be judged during
the interview process.
After polishing my
communication skills, now I'm geared up for the interview process with the
Free-lancing giant. I hope my dream, to be in the top 3% of the toptal SSIS engineers group , will come true.
